Obituary
Sommer, Heinz – Passed away peacefully at his home in Georgetown with his family by his side, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Erika Sommer (2022). Dear father to his daughter, and son, Andrea and Martin (Sonia). Cherished Opa of Emma, Katrina, Isabella, and his fur grandchild Benji. Heinz will be missed by many close friends. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, at the height of World War II and became one of the strongest and most compassionate people throughout his life. His door was always open, even to a stranger. Always ready to lend a helping hand, to engage in witty banter while remaining supportive and calm.
Cremation has taken place. In place of flowers, memorial contributions to CAShh (Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills) and the Georgetown Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. To send expressions of sympathy, visit www.jonesfuneralhome.com.
A celebration of life will be held at Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Much gratitude to the Mississauga Halton Palliative Care Team, Home and Community Care Support Services Mississauga Halton, and CAShh (Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills). You all went beyond expectations to make his final months as comfortable as possible.
Dad, you have left us physically, but you will continue to live on in our hearts, as you have left such strong ripples in our lives that you will be with us for eternity.
