In Renfrew, on Wednesday April 26, 2023, Hector, at the age of 93, beloved husband of Barbara Ann (Tierney) for 68 years. Loving father of Anne Marie (Colin) Slight. Predeceased by daughter Elizabeth (Beth) and grandson Michael.
Cherished grandfather (Boggie) to his grandchildren Adam (Erin) Slight, Jennifer (Eric) Elgar, Kelly (Nicholas) Pecoskie, and Victoria (Harry) Wong. Proud great-grandfather to; Ewan Slight, Clare & Charlie Elgar, Mila & Max Pecoskie, and Eliza & Linus Wong.
Dear son of the late Hector Chugg and Evelyn Burke. He was the eldest of six. Predeceased by siblings; Margaret Anne Kearns, Patricia (Merrill) Allard, James (Marina) Chugg, and Caroline (Murray) Manley. Survived by his youngest sister Evelyn (Bob) Lacroix. Loved by all his nieces and nephews.
Hector was a true gentleman and was devoted to his Catholic faith, which was central to who he was. His love, strength, kindness and sense of humour will be greatly missed by many.
Visitations will be held at the Goulet Funeral Home, 310 Argyle St, S Renfrew on Sunday April 30th from 2-4 and 6-8 and after 9:30 am Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, Renfrew, on Monday May 1st at 10:30 am. Interment Parish Cemetery.
