Heather was born to Jean and Gordon Bourne in Montréal on March 18th, 1941, and she spent her early years in Saint-Lambert, Quebec. She then moved to Port Credit with her family in time for high school. Heather attended McGill and the University of Toronto, graduating from U of T with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Heather found work as a teacher, a librarian, and later in her career at the Gift Cellar, the Added Touch and the Framing Den in Oakville where she put her artistic inclinations to good use. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing bridge, mahjong, travelling, and spending time with friends in the B & B Interest Group, and at the Oakville Club. When Heather retired, she spent her summers in Petite Rivière, Nova Scotia with her husband Hugh and cat Topaz. Heather was a kind, positive, empathic person who had a great love of animals, and of her friends and family to whom she will be deeply missed.
The family is forever grateful to Sue Troyan and Scott Millar for taking such good care of Heather in her later years, as well as the incredible staff at Amica Dundas and The Kensington, Oakville.
