Heather’s Obituary
Passed away suddenly at home on February 20, 2023. She was 43 years of age. Loving mother to Allen and Claire. She was born May 14, 1979 to parents Brian and Susan Bleich. Best friend and partner to Chris Lane. Older sister to Erin (Reuben) and Kevin (Mary). Much loved aunt to Rider, Nathan, Oliver and Athena. She will be sadly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Nothing meant more to her than the people she loved.
A graduate of BCI and Mohawk College, Heather spent the last eight years at KeepRite in the accounting department. She was an active member of the social committee where she enjoyed organising special events, especially the kids’ Christmas parties and annual charity drives. She was immensely proud of her children’s achievements. Claire, for her unfailing work ethic which she continues through her high school education, and Allen, for graduating with distinction from Concordia University in Montreal.
Even though she was born a muggle, she possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of the wizarding world as well as a magical talent for crocheting. She turned her hobby (obsession) crocheting, into a successful international business, suitably named Yarn it All. It boomed in recent years under the watchful eye of her beloved fluffy white cat, Simon. She is most famously known for her crocheted Queen Elizabeth dolls, which she has sent to customers worldwide. While she wasn’t busy crocheting, she was playing board games with family and friends, or watching a Harry Potter film, for the umpteenth time. Her ginger pride and soaring spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be welcomed at the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, on Sunday from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday February 27, 2023 at 1 p.m. In Heather’s memory, donations to the Coldest Night of the Year Walk hosted by Why Not City Mission (cnoy.org/location/brantford) would be appreciated by the family.
