It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Hazel May Buckley on March 18th , 2023.
Hazel was the youngest of 4 children born to Ada and Albert O’Connor on Jan. 21 st 1927 in Vancouver, B.C. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Victor Buckley (2019) and her siblings Ada, Albert and Jessie. Hazel leaves behind her 4 children, Diane (Dean) Chris (Betty), Susan (Brad), Sandy (Steve) and her 6 grandchildren and her 10 great- grandchildren.
While raising her family, Hazel volunteered at the Burnaby Hospital Auxiliary, Burnaby Hospital Thrift store, meals on wheels, and the Friendship group at her church. She enjoyed curling, gardening, boating, travelling and spending time with her family down at the cabin at the beach.
She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness and her laughter and will forever be in our hearts and minds.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name, to your favourite charity. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
