Hazel Agnes Lucy
(Fairweather) Starkey, wife of the late Douglas Starkey, passed
peacefully on May 10th, 2024 at York Care
Centre.
She was born August 27th, 1926
in Chipman, NB to the late Hilyard and Mada (Kilfillen)
Fairweather.
She is survived by daughters
Sylvia Starkey and Sandi Starkey (Sergio Carvana), grandchildren
Kandie Joe Faig (Mark), Jimmy Tilley, Paula Clark (Arnold), Amber
Bishop (Joel Roy), Ben Bishop (Roxanne), Joseph Farquhar and several
great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Lorraine Daley, Amy
Carr, Laura MacDonald and sisters-in-law Ida Fairweather, Shirley
Fairweather, Olga Mott-Allaby and many nieces and
nephews.
Besides her husband, she was
predeceased by her daughter Sharon Tilley, son-in-law George Tilley,
brothers Larry, Frank, Walter, Leslie, Charlie, Fred, sisters Ida,
Ada, Alice, Carol and special niece Shirley
Daye.
Hazel loved her family and
always looked forward to their visits. She also enjoyed entertaining –
especially the «Tea Parties» with the ladies of 55 McKnight
St.
Sylvia and Sandi would like to
send heartfelt thanks to all of Hazel’s care takers at York
Care with a special thanks to Kevin for all the special things he did
for her, Pastor Norm for being with her in her final hours and good
friend and neighbour Dorothy. We appreciate you
all.
Hazel requested that
there be no visitation or funeral. There will be a family
graveside service at a later
date.
Bishop’s
Funeral Home & Crematorium 540 Woodstock Road have been
entrusted with the arrangements.
