Peacefully, on December 16, 2023 Harvey died at his home on Clearwater Lake. Sitting in his favorite chair, surrounded by his sports memorabilia and family photos; with the Neepawa Titan hockey schedule on the coffee table beside him and the television on.
Harvey was born in Gladstone Manitoba on March 29, 1955 to Marilyn Richardson (Hertlein) and Les Richardson.
He grew up the oldest of 5 children and in a busy household that moved to several communities during his childhood. Harvey graduated from high school in Neepawa and soon after married his sweetheart Bev Seaborn in 1974. They had two sons, Jeff, who has two children Harlyn Ember and Rier Rocket, and Scott (Crystal) who have a daughter, Ella Shy.
He started his work life as a manager for Beaver Lumber and ran the stores in Neepawa, Nipigon, Flin Flon, and then The Pas.
With a change of career, he joined Manitoba Corrections and was in a supervisory role as a shift leader. He spoke highly of his crew and was always positive about that challenging career they all had chosen. When he retired, B shift gave him a great Red Green Possum Lodge sendoff.
For the next few years, he had the experience of a life time as a fishing and big game guide at Neultin Lake in Northern Manitoba /Nunavut.
He really enjoyed his last job at Ace Hardware and could usually be found chatting over by the paint counter or really, just chatting, everywhere, all the time.
Harvey was active in sports from a young age- playing Hockey, Football, and Baseball. As an adult he was on the ice with The Pas Steamers and on the Manitoba Corrections Team where he saw a lot of Canada during their Tournaments. He always talked about the games in the Maritimes and being in Moncton and St Johns.
He was an easy-going traveler and with his friend MJ (who he called Ms. D) they took family vacations in Cuba, did Whale watching in Maui, Ziplining in Costa Rica, and Genealogical research in England, and, most recently, followed Blue Jays spring training in Florida.
Harvey leaves many family and friends who will miss him.
Brother Calvin Richardson (Karen) Sister Debbie (and his deceased brother-in-law and hunting and fishing partner Dave Harapiak) Sister Brenda Schell (Wayne) Brother Brian Richardson (Darlene) and brother Greg Trenholm (Teryl) . Loving all his nephews and nieces, he had to keep up with a lot of Richardson activity and family gatherings.
He loved his Snake Island Way family at the lake, who, over the years and recently, had provided so much care, and support – they are beautiful people.
Harvey left us too soon, he had grandchildren and neighbor children to be proud of, hockey games to watch, fish to fry, and classic rock to listen to.
