After many years of health struggles, Harvey Janke sadly passed away at Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage la Prairie.
Harvey is survived by his living son Jon, his sister Audrey and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Gail Janke, his parents Max and Mary, sister Evelyn and brothers Herbert and Alphonse.
Harvey was born in the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, Manitoba (near Beausejour) and raised on a farm one mile North of Marquette. He moved West for a while, mining in the mines, and hauled gravel and snow for a few years. Later he started his own water hauling business, Harvey Janke Trucking, hauling water to many family homes and businesses for many years up until his early 80’s.
In 1967, Harvey and Gail married and made their forever home in St. Francois Xavier. Together they raised a family and took great pride in their home.
His passions were trucking/hauling water and tinkering on many projects in his shop. Harvey was very ambitious and always on the go. He travelled with Gail to Egypt, parts of Asia, Australia, Alaska, Japan and more.
Over the past five years and more, Harvey had many health challenges. His son Jon was always there for him to help him with whatever he needed.
Harvey was so kind and funny, he will be dearly missed and always loved.
