October 16, 1939 – February 17, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Guy on Saturday February 17, 2024.
Guy passed peacefully surrounded by his family at the Milton District Hospital. Loving father of Trevor and Brent (Susan).
Adoring grandfather to Rhys, Riley, and Maddox. Forever remembered by his siblings Joy (Simon) Larby, and Ann (Mike) Turner.
Guy was born in Bath Somerset, England to his loving parents Bruce and Phylis Smith. Growing up, Guy excelled at sports and academics which led him to Dartmouth Naval College. Before emigrating to Canada in the 1960’s, Guy spent his early adulthood as a member of the British Royal Navy. He raised his two children in Canada before moving back to the UK where he spent a few years working and reconnecting with old friends and family. He lived out his retirement years back in Canada where he enjoyed going out to dinner, a nice glass of Scotch, weekly dinner nights with his grandchildren, watching Formula One, and occasionally trying out his luck at the Casino. Guy was a man who lived his life to the fullest and he will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for a Celebration of Life at the McKersie & Early Funeral Home
114 Main St. E. Milton (905) 878-4452 on Saturday February 24th, 2024 from 1pm-4pm in the Upper Level of the Funeral Home, which has an elevator is available for those that have difficulties with stairs.
Donations in honour of Guy can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, which would be appreciated by the family.
