Gretchen Stonefish passed away peacefully on Friday, August 25th, 2023 at Riverview Gardens with her loving family by her side.
Predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Alice Stonefish. Beloved mother of Angela Gamba (Joseph), Rawleigh Deleary Pennings, and Bruce Pennings, step-mother of the late William «Billy» Pennings (Grace) and Brian Pennings. Proud grandmother of Christopher, Rachelle, John, Marcus, Nicole, Christine, Patricia, Chantelle, Bradley, Michael, Sharlene, and Taylor Quenneville, as well as bonus granddaughters Renee Wilger and Stephanie Chrisjohn. She will be dearly missed by her special friends, Don Whiteye and Rosemary Deleary Williams as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Gretchen was a social activist, serving on the Human Rights Commission and St. Clair Parkway Commission. She was also very active in her union, and retired from Canada Post. Beyond all, she always had an open door for her grand and great grandchildren, of whom she was very proud.
Family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers on 4th floor West at Riverview Gardens for their kind and compassionate care.
Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Committal Service will be held Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Moraviantown Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to follow at Moraviantown Community Center.
