It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Greta Daisy Elizabeth Hiscock of Garnish announces her passing. Greta passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank on Friday, March 10th, 2023, at the age of 98. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her daughters, Alice Grandy of Ottawa, ON, Almeda Coady (Eugene) of Garnish, Phyllis Hildebrandt of Smith’s Falls, ON, Brenda Krushnisky (Michael) of Garnish, Miriam Matthews (Leonard) of Grand Bank; 10 grandchildren, Ross, Colin, Tammy, Julie, Geoff, Meaghan, Philip, Bob, Matthew and Rachel; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; special mention to Laurie Senior, who was like a granddaughter to mom; also lovingly remembered by her nephews, nieces and friends. Greta was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; son, David Hiscock; grandson, Philip Taylor; parents Philip and Hannah Grandy; siblings, Florence, Wilfred, Mary Louise, Thomas, Winnifred and Gertrude; son-in-law Andre Bissonnette.
A special thank you to all the staff at the Blue Crest Nursing home in Grand Bank, where mom called home over the past number of years, for your kindness and care expressed to our mom.
The Hiscock Family will be accepting visitors at The Salvation Army Citadel, Garnish on Sunday, March 12th, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life and Funeral Service for Greta will take place at The Salvation Army Citadel, Garnish on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at Garnish United Church.
In Greta’s memory donations may be made to The Salvation Army Garnish Citadel or The Garnish United Church Cemetery, or flowers gratefully accepted.
