It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gregory Dean Verge, of Falmouth, age 56, on Sunday, December 15, 2024. He passed away peacefully in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax, after a short illness.
Greg is survived by his son, Gerald (Laura) and grandson, Wesley. He is also survived by his mother, Roberta; brothers, Allen (Jayne) and Myles; as well as his nieces, Ashley, Morgan and Courtney and nephew, Christopher.
He was predeceased by his father, Walter.
Greg was a happy-go-lucky young man who enjoyed windsurfing, snowboarding, fishing and camping.
Greg proudly served in the Canadian Forces for 26 years and was a Gulf War veteran. He served with the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Haiti as well as three tours in Afghanistan and many Maritime Missions with HMCS Preserver.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private family funeral service will be held at a later date. In memoriam, donations may be made to your local Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
