Graham Wentworth Duffy, 83, of Hillsborough passed away
peacefully at the Georges L-Dumont Hospital on April 23, 2023 with his
loving wife by his side. He passed away following complications from
Covid. He was born in Hillsborough, NB, the son of John And
Hester (Beaumont) Duffy.
Graham worked with CN for fifteen years in Winnipeg before
retiring in 2000. He loved his work and made many good
friends over the years and enjoyed talking about his experiences on
the job. After his retirement he moved back to his hometown
of Hillsborough and moved into a home that was built on the farmland
his grandfather once owned on Braam Crescent in
Hillsborough. He loved being in the country and back
home. He became an active member of the Hillsborough Baptist
Church where he served on the Board of Deacons. He was also
very involved with the Benevolent Committee, since his heart was for
those in need. A Highlight of Graham’s life was being part
of a mission trip to Guatemala in 2004, it really strengthened his
faith in God.
He enjoyed travelling, camping, reading and riding his ATV
with his friends through the trails of Albert County.
His journey on earth is over and he is now in the presence
of his Lord and Savoir hearing the words «Well done my good and
faithful servant». Until we meet
again.
In the past few years Graham has struggled with his health
and dementia. He felt so blessed to have his devoted wife,
Donna by his side and take such good care of all his needs.
He also appreciated all the visits and care packages from his special
daughter-in-law, Diane and his sister, Sylvia. He
has been a resident of Fundy Royal Manor in Hillsborough for the past
three years where he received compassionate care, lovingly
provided by the staff of Fundy Royal Manor. Graham always
had a warm smile and a pleasant hello for everyone that came through
the door. His kind and gentle spirit will be
remembered by all.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Donna (MacDonald) of
Riverview; Daughter-in-law, Diane Duffy of Bouctouche- wife of
Graham’s predeceased oldest son, Steve; his other children, Shelley
Henderson (Dana), Scott Duffy (Colleen) and Stacy Duffy all of
Toronto, ON; Donna’s children, Darin Ramsay (Deantha Edmunds) of St.
John’s NFLD, Cheryl Oloriz (Ted) of Calgary; his sister, Sylvia Price
(Ron) and brother, Paul Duffy (Ann) both of Hillsborough; his
grandchildren, John Duffy (Josee), and Stephanie Duffy (Ghislain
Robichaud) of Bouctouche; Erica and Aaron Henderson of Toronto;
Donna’s grandchildren, Charlize and Taryn Oloriz of Calgary and
Annabelle Ramsay of NFLD. He will also be missed by nephews,
Neil Duffy, Troy Woodworth and by all his extended family and
friends.
A Funeral Service and Celebration of Graham’s Life
will take place at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, April
26, 2023 at 2:00pm with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating.
There will be a time of visitation an hour prior to the service from
1-2pm. Following the service the family invites you
to join them for further fellowship and for refreshments at the
funeral home.
Interment will be in the Grey’s Island Cemetery,
Hillsborough.
Donations in Graham’s memory to the
Hillsborough Baptist Church Building Fund, Canadian Cancer
Society, or charity of your choice would be greatly
appreciated.
