Obituary
ROLLO, Gordon Lloyd Jr.
70 years young
May 3rd, 1953 – June 15th, 2023
In the morning hours of June 15th, with his loving family by his side, Gordy tragically lost his life at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus. Loving husband, and 50 years of companionship to Cindy Rollo (nee Moir). Best friend and loving Dad of Brenda Rollo and husband, Jeremy Baillargeon. Devoted, and much loved Papa, to Brianna and Jenna Baillargeon. Gord will always be known and remembered for his kindness to all, but especially his love and devotion to his family. Growing up, and living most of his adult life in Remington Park, Gordy was best known for his selfless ways. When he wasn’t working, or spending time with his family, he was helping others. From fixing cars and motorcycles, to helping build or repair something. He was the jack of all trades, and he actually mastered more than one. For many years, Gord built an ice rink with only a garden hose, in the field across from their home on Lillian. People of all ages, and not just those that lived in Remington Park, came out to enjoy the rink. One Christmas morning, a fire hose was gifted to him. A few days after, CKLW and CKWW came out to interview them. Too bad it wasn’t on video. It was a sight to see him and Jeremy use that for the first time! Later, after moving, he was still found building rinks for neighbours, and eventually helping make rinks for his Granddaughters. Until the weather no longer supported all the effort. Gord was a retiree from Chrysler Canada. Retiring from stock, with his daughter driving fork lift by his side, at plant 3, shift 3. Gordy had many enjoyments in life; Racing in Checkered flag, demolition derby, fishing, and bowling. Over the years, he also volunteered his time and contributed to many charities. ALS Society of Windsor Es County, United Way, War Amps, and even took up Crocheting, to teach his Granddaughters to crochet caps and scarves for the blessing bags of Pay it Forward. An avid supporter of Organ and tissue donation. But his biggest joy came from being with his family and Grandchildren, never missing a school event, game, or milestone… His other true love, riding his Harley, coming in at a close second. Gordy is also survived by, and dearly missed by his parents, Marge Rauth (nee Rollo, nee Hillman) and Frank Rauth. Brothers; Larry (Helen), Tim(Charlene) Chris(Traci), Cousin Joe Hillman, which was like a brother (Connie). Sisters; Kathy Herdsman (Derrick, 2018), and Kim O’Leary, Brother in law; Glen Moir (Sherry), Sisiters in law; Linda Raymond (Ray), Leslie Moir (Jeff Laframboise,1994) and many nieces and nephews. Welcoming him with loving arms and giving him his spot amongst the stars in heaven are; His father; Pvt. Gordon Rollo Sr., Parents in law; Allen and Shirley Moir, Sisters; Linda Kulbacki (nee Rollo), Sherry Menard (Dan), Brothers in law; Doug Moir, Steve Moir and David Moir Sr. Also reunited with many loyal pets at the Rainbow Bridge. In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, the family asks that donations be directed to a trust account for legal purposes, that has been set up by Brenda Rollo. Cremation has taken place. Please join us for a memorial visitation on Sunday, August 20th, 2023 from 2-4 pm at Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Ave. E., Es (519-776-4233.
