Obituary of Godofredo Baterina Gutierrez
GUTIERREZ, Godofredo “Fred” – Fred passed away suddenly at Victoria Hospital, London, on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Mercedes. Dear father of Melanie Marhue (Richard), Sarnia and Grace Gutierrez, Toronto. Lolo Fredo to Cynthia, Daniel, Carolina and Caiden. Step-father of Adela, Edna, Nympha, Ondying, Manuel, Eulogio, Eleno and Francisco. Brother of Dalisay, Judith, Christina, Crisanto III and Jocris. Also surviving are several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Crisanto Sr. and Saturnina Gutierrez and brother Crisanto II. Fred was an avid fisherman, bowler and tennis player. Following his retirement from Ontario Power Generation, Fred discovered his love for cooking and enjoyed preparing meals for his family. He passed his love for music to his grandchildren. His memory will live on through their songs. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. Cremation will follow and Fred’s ashes will be scattered in the St. Clair River where he loved to fish. In lieu of flowers donations to London Guest House, 134 Orkney Cres., London, N5X 3R5 (cheques only at the funeral home). Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
