Gloria Loomer (nee MacDonald), 80, of Grand Bay, NB, died JANUARY 5, 2024, at Saint John Regional Hospital in Saint John, NB. She was born on February 11, 1943, in Saint John, NB, to Helen MacDonald (nee Wright) and Wilford Wallace MacDonald. She was married to David Loomer on August 22, 1964 in Saint John, NB. Gloria is survived by her daughter Linda, son-in-law Bob, grandchildren Kai and Ben, brother-in-law Frank, nieces Diana and Heather (Aaron), and great niece Lila.
She is predeceased by her step father-in-law Clarence Ring and mother-in-law Dorothy Ring (nee Cheyne/Loomer).
Gloria worked for Eastern Paper, Norman Wade and Electrolux over the years. She also volunteered with Saint John People Assoc., Grand Bay Liberal Assoc., KBM Pre-School Committee, Grand Bay Building Assoc., Grand Bay Recreation Assoc., St. John Ambulance Assoc., Kings Co. Liberal Assoc., and Fundy Royal Liberal Assoc. Gloria was the founding President of the River Road Co-op and a Pythian Sister. She loved gardening, knitting, crocheting, crafts, and sports. Gloria really loved animals, especially birds and cats. She was known as the neighbourhood’s stray cat whisperer.
