1942-2024
The passing of Gloria Grace Shaw of Pennfield NB occurred at
the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on October 8, 2024.
Born in Pennfield NB on January 16, 1942, she was a daughter of the
late James and Kathleen (Palk) Brown. A loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, sister and companion, Gloria is survived by one
daughter, Kathleen Shaw (Russell Justason) of Pennfield NB; one son
Kenny Shaw (Sheri McLellan) of Breadalbane NB; grandchildren: Nicole
(Cody) Gee, Jerika Shaw (T.J. Matser) and Jarred Shaw;
great-grandchildren: Grayden, Nash, Knox, Jaxson and Oaklyn; sisters:
Sanda and Sally Ann both of Nova Scotia; her longtime companion, Leo
Goguen of Saint John NB; several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Prior to her retirement, Gloria was a longtime employee of
Connor’s Brothers in Blacks Harbour where she worked for 57
years, retiring from the Can and Cover Division at the age of 73.
Gloria loved music, especially old classic country and could often be
found attending the «pick and jams» in both Blacks Harbour
and Saint John. She will be forever remembered as the «life of
the party.» Gloria loved spending her free time with her family,
especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family
and all who knew her.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. The funeral service
will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday at 2:00 pm with
Rev. Greg Card officiating followed by the interment in Pennfield
Rural Cemetery. Visiting will take place in the chapel prior to the
service beginning at Noon. In Gloria’s memory, donations to
the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
