Gloria Blomme long term resident of Lively, ON, passed in the late evening of February 6th, 2024 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Gloria is survived by her husband Chris Blomme, their children Eva (Matthew), Jason, Liisa (Anders), and Gregory. Gloria was a proud Mummu to Nash, Amara, Freja and Tahvo. She was a loving sister to Dr. Linda Tenhunen (late Paul Derro), late Gary Tenhunen and late Christine Ross (David Ross). Loving aunt to Fay, Jordan (Skylar) and Leah. Equally missed by all other relatives and friends.
Gloria was born December 31, 1952 to Dr. Theodore Tenhunen and Dr. Aino Tenhunen (née Koski) in Sudbury, ON.
Gloria spoke colourfully about the many adventures she had travelling to destinations with her family growing up. She and her siblings also spent much of their time at camp with their grandparents Bruno and Tyyne on Little Lake Penage. She continued to make treasured memories throughout the years with her own four children and most recently, with her grandchildren.
She acquired her B.A. in Psychology at Laurentian University where she picked up her husband and continued her enjoyment of adventure seeking and enjoying nature. They had a family together and she thrived as a mother raising her four children.
Gloria loved the arts and always supported local businesses and artists. She had a keen eye for aesthetics and creativity and always wanted to share that with others. Her patience and assertiveness were unmatched. She was attentive, educative, empathetic and loved a good philosophical discussion with friends.
