It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Giovanni on September 28, 2023.
Beloved wife of Antonietta (nee Santino) for over 60 years. Loving father of Rosetta, Connie (Dunier) and Rosario (Michelle).
He will be dearly missed by his adored grandchildren Alicia (Andelko), Jessica, Max, Angelina, Anna, Nina, Gianna, and Felicia.
Proud bisnonno to Natalia.
Forever reunited with his parents, Rosario and Rosa Cocchiara and Pasquale and Maria Concetta Santino
Giovanni was a talented blacksmith/welder from Sicily.
He loved artistic designs, especially with stain glass. He had a powerful voice and loved to sing for his family and friends.
Above all, he cared deeply for his family and grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Canada, Italy (Sicily), England and Germany.
Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the staff at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital and also the staff at CarePartners for all their dedication, compassion and care of our cherished husband, father and nonno.
Visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel on Tuesday October 3, 2023, from 2pm-4p, and 5pm-8pm, with vigil prayers at 6pm.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at All Souls Church on Wednesday October 4, 2023 at 10am.
Cremation to Follow.
