With great sadness we announce the passing of a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, on August 1st, 2024, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Sante Sacchini, now forever reunited together. Devoted mother of Dana Colosimo (Peter), Rico (Anna) Sacchini, (Dan Colosimo). Loving mother to two predeceased babies both named Federico Sacchini. Will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Christopher Colosimo, Brian (Sierra) Colosimo, Michael (Alex) Colosimo, Sante (Sumur) Sacchini, Eric (Lyndsay) Sacchini, Julia (Marc) Mancini. Her everyday strength and joy came from her great-grandchildren Remi and Sienna Sacchini, Sofie Sacchini, Luca and Gabriele Mancini. Predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Maria Cinelli and her father and mother-in law Federico and Domenica Sacchini. Sister to Filipo (late Angela) Cinelli, Iolanda (Luigi) D’Angelo, Veneranda (late Amodeo) Moroni, Rita (Pietro) Maniccia, the late Ezio (Iolanda) Cinelli, the late Antonina (late Narduccio) Capoferri, the late Giustino (late Silvia) Cinelli, the late Nella (late Giovanni) Veramonti. Predeceased by sister-in law Linda Cinelli. Sister-in-law to Mafalda (late Adamo) Veramonti, the late Fiorindo (Giuliana) Sacchini, the late Ercole (Fiora) Sacchini, the late Amelia (Erneste) Gentili, the late Domenico (late Ermeta) Sacchini, the late Rosetta (late Francesco) Irelli. Will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Gina was in her element when the family was together enjoying the delicious meals she prepared, great conversations and enjoying each others’ company. Tuesday dinners at Nonna Gina’s house was always a staple during the week for a great place to gather and enjoy family. She was the first person to lend a helping hand to whatever needed to be done. Whether it was canning tomatoes, making sausage, baking or sewing. Her garden was her passion. The produce that came from that garden could rival any grocery store. She was the matriarch of the family and her presence will be missed tremendously. Her legacy will continue on in her grandchildren. Her recipes will be incorporated in our traditions for generations. Special thanks to Father Mark Gatto for your support and kindness to our entire family over the years. Special thanks to the staff at St Peter’s Residence for your continued care for our beloved mother during her time with you. Special thanks to Friscolanti Funeral Chapel staff for their guidance during this difficult time. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Tuesday August 6, 2024, from 2-4p.m. & 5-8p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10a.m. on Wednesday August 7, 2024, at St Catherine of Sienna Parish, 620 Rymal Road East, Hamilton, Ontario. Final resting place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
