With heavy hearts, surrounded by her loving family, in her 91st year, we announce the peaceful passing of Gina De lure. On February 8, 2024, Gina was forever reunited with her husband Aristide De lure. Loving mother of Giulia (Leonardo) Guttaiano. Proud and devoted nonna of Gemma and Alessandro. Predeceased by her parents Carmine and Serafina (nee Naccarato) De Rosa and her in-laws Nicola and Bambina (nee Sarchese) De Iure. She is reunited in heaven with her siblings Chiarina (late Luigi) Siciliano, Domenic (late Melina) De Rosa as well as her sister in-law’s Giulia De lure, Malfada (late Guiseppe) Boletta, Giovina (late Domenico) Santamicone, and Antonietta (late Angelo) Dinuzio as well as her late brother in-law Ercole (Carmela) De lure and will be missed by her brother in-law Alberto (Aurelia) De lure. She will be missed by many nephews and nieces, cousins, family, and friends in Canada and Italy.
Gina was born on June 12, 1933, in Donnici, Calabria, Italy. Gina was a devoted wife, great mother, and loving nonna. Gina welcomed everyone into her home with open arms. She adored her two beautiful grandchildren and had a one-of-a-kind love for her daughter. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making dresses. She also loved making her famous gnocchi and being outside in her backyard. She was a very loving, kind, gentlehearted woman who left a great impact on those around her and anyone who was fortunate to have met her. Gina always had a smile for everyone, and she often called everyone «Beautiful».
A special heartfelt thank you to The Wellington Nursing Home for the last 5 years for their care and compassion towards Gina.
Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St, E., on Sunday February 11, 2024 from 1-6 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church (165 Prospect St. N) on Monday February 12, 2024 at 11 am. Entombment to follow at Bayview Cemetery in Burlington.
