Mitchell, Gerald
Gerry passed away peacefully in the Perth hospital on Sunday January 15th, 2023 at the age of 83 years. He was the beloved husband of Rose (McIntosh) Mitchell, loved and respected father of Marlene (Scott) Wright and grandfather of Mallory Wright, McKenzie Mitchell and Cameron Mitchell. He will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law Ellard McDonald, all his family and friends. Gerry was predeceased by his son Guy Mitchell, brothers Robert, Douglas and Elmer Mitchell and sisters Pearl (Hugh) Quackenbush, Grace (Harold) Peters, Shirley (Ernest) Curran and Edith McDonald.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Thursday January 19th, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday January 20th, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Family Centre. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Gerry are asked to consider the First Baptist Church, Perth or the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation (Perth Site). Gerry’s family wish to express their sincere appreciation to the staff on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Perth Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
