Germaine’s Obituary
Forever cherished, Germaine Georgette Moulun passes away at age of 95.
A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Germaine Moulun, 95, passed away on October 3, 2024 at the Manoir du Lac in McLennan. Germaine was kind and nurturing and her smile warmed your heart.
Germaine was born January 5, 1929 in Falher AB, daughter of Charles and Alice DeBaere. She lost her mom and Charles later remarried, Ella DeBaere. She was strong and a hard worker, always helped her dad on the farm, plowing, discing, seeding, and ran the threshing machine. In 1949 Germaine married her soulmate, Marcel and they had two boys, Rene and Leo. While raising her family, she helped Marcel on the farm, worked at the post office and at the Co-op restaurant. She always gave back to the community, worked for the cancer campaign for ten years and the welcome wagon for six years.
At a very young age her dad taught her to make bread, which she passed down three generations. Germaine’s recipes were always a little bit of this and a handful of that but definitely a lot of love. She loved to bake and cook for her family and friends.
Germaine had a true passion for music. She played the organ, piccolo, accordion and mouth organ. She would walk several miles to go dancing. Germaine was always playing music, singing and dancing and loved to have dance parties in her living room with her grandchildren.
Germaine loved Leo and Rene, every grandchild and great grandchild unconditionally and always had a beautiful smile when they visited. She would love to hear about their lives and was proud of all their accomplishments.
Two of her cherished memories was when she went with her sister to Nashville and got to visit the Grande Ole Opry and when she travelled to Hawaii with Marcel, Rita and Paul.
Germaine is survived by her sons, Rene (Gail), Leo (Lorraine); grandchildren, Michelle, Shawn (Tanya), Todd (Nikki), Nancy, Lynn (Steve) Jackson; sixteen great grandchildren; nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Alice, stepmother Ella, brother George, sisters Elsa and Paulette and granddaughter Catherine.
Funeral services will be held October 29th at 11:00 AM at the Paroisse Ste. Anne Parish in Falher, with Monseignor Charles Lavoie PH officiating. Internment to follow at the Ste. Anne Cemetery in Falher. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Memories Funeral Homes. Donations can be made in honor of Germaine Moulun to the Canadian Cancer Society
Germaine will always be remembered for her true beauty, caring nature, passion for music, tenderness and love, her warm smile and joy for life. She will forever be our beautiful sunset, the brightest star on our clear nights, the comfort of our warm blankets, and the melody in our sweetest songs.
