RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – Germaine Downey 96, of
Richibouctou-Village passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.
Dumont University Hospital Center in Moncton on Saturday, April 13,
2024. Born in Richibouctou-Village, she was the daughter of
the late William Babineau and late Adelina (Babineau)
Babineau.
Germaine will be sadly missed by her two sons, William Downey
(Diane) of Richibouctou-Village, Ronald «Ronnie«
Downey (Celeste) of Virginia; three granddaughters, Nicole, Carol,
Sarah; two great granddaughters, Angelina, Milanya; two
sisters-in-law, Yvonne Babineau of Richibouctou-Village and Clara
Babineau of St. Louis.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was
predeceased by her parents; her husband, Norman Downey; four sisters,
Marie, Rosie, Rita, Sophie; three brothers, Albert, Emile,
André; five half brothers, Antoine, Gerard, Jean-Baptiste,
Alyre and Jérome.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 beginning
at 9:00 am until time of the funeral at the St. Antoine de Padoue
Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room. A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 am, St. Antoine de
Padoue Roman Catholic Church in
Richibouctou-Village.
Arrangements are in the professional care of Thompson`s
Funeral Home in Richibucto (506-523-4252).
