It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Gerda Wolf at the age of 92, at Extendicare Timmins on Friday, June 14, 2024. Gerda and her beloved husband Rudy left Germany in 1952 to start a new life in Canada. All her children were born in Sudbury and raised in Lively, Ontario. She moved to Timmins in December of 2012 to receive and support her family.
Gerda is survived by her son David (Claude) of Matheson, Donald ‘’Donny’’ (Jody) of North Miami, and by her daughters, Monika Wolf (Kenneth Brear) of Es, Susanne ‘’Suzie’’ Kennedy (Peter) of Windsor. She is predeceased by her husband Rudolph ‘’Rudi’’ (1996), her daughters Ina Edmunds (2004) (spouse Bruce of Kelowna), Elizabeth ‘’Liz’’ Legault (2017) (spouse Leonard of Lively), and her son Ronald ‘’Ronny’’ (2020) (spouse Dell of Timmins). Gerda is also survived by her grandchildren, Robin, Randy, Billy, Sean, Melanie, Pamela, Brittany, Derrick, Dana and Karl, as well as by several great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to Dr. Ditullio and all the nurses and staff at Extendicare Timmins for all their unwavering support and care. Also, a special thanks to Dell Wolf for all her support and regular visits with Oma.
Cremation has taken place. Respecting Gerda’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to LESSARED Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations to the SickKids Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
