Gerard James Lorentz passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the age of 84.
Survived his children, Carol-Ann Lorentz (Ron Hoffman) and James, three grandchildren, his sister Peggy Helm, sister-in-law Janis Black, and brother-in-law Carl Johnston.
Predeceased by his wife, Camilla Lorentz, his parents, James and Carolina Lorentz, sisters Miriam (late Bill Bonnell), Sister Audrey (Betty), Dorothy Lorentz, and Audrey (late George Grubb), and brother-in-law Earl Helm. He was predeceased by his wife’s family and 1 brother-in-law.
Gerard was a former custodian at the School Sisters of Notre Dame Motherhouse in Waterdown, Ontario and then returned to run the family farm in the Mildmay-Carrick area at his father’s request. He was a loving caregiver to many friends, family, and neighbours.
Friend and relatives are invited for visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cameron’s in Walkerton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton. The officiant is Fr. Les Szczygiel. A video recording of services will be made available through Cameron’s website on Friday.
Spring interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mildmay.
