Obituary of Geraldine «Gerri» Greatrex (nee Banks)
Passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024 at 84 years of age.
Born in Toronto, Ontario she was the daughter of the late John Banks (2003) and Ethel Brooks (2004).
Reunited with her beloved husband Don (2019) and son Randy (2022). Cherished mother of Susan (James) Meloche. Proud Gigi of Aaron, Amber, Tarah (Zac), Jordon, Sierra, Kassidy, Alexis and great-grandchildren Noah, Aadon, Austen and Alyvia. She adored her precious grandchildren, and valued spending time with each of them. Gerri will be sadly missed by her dearest sister Jessie and brothers John, the late Wayne (1954), Robert (Jeannett) and Rick. She leaves behind close family including cousins, nephews and nieces along with many friends, and will be greatly missed by all.
She was a retiree of CIBC, after 30 years of dedicated service. For many years she loved spending the summers at Pine Lake, Bayfield and the winters in sunny Port Charlotte, Florida. Gerri enjoyed the outdoors, beaches, entertaining and celebrating holidays with friends and family.
Gerri will always be remembered for her beautiful, sweet smile and heart of gold!
Memorial visitation Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Monday July 8, 2024, from 10:30am until time of Funeral Service at 11:30am. In honor of Gerri’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and she will be laid to rest with her husband Don, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
