After a brief battle with cancer, the family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Laura “Geraldine” Foster of St. Thomas, formerly of Port Burwell on Sunday January 1, 2023 in her 84th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Bill (2008). Loving mother to Evelyn (Mike) Nichols, William (Bill Jr.) Foster and Wayne Foster. Grandmother to Mark Elley; Owen Nichols; Greg Nichols; Savannah (Deagan) Bonneteau; Joel (Raisha) Foster, Amanda Foster and Jasmine Foster. Great grandmother to Brooke, William, Cooper, Georgia, Quinton, and Peyton. Sister to Robert LeMay. Sister-in-law to Carol Baskey, Muriel Baskey, Irene Baskey, Marguerite Foster, Gwen Foster and Marian LeMay. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, John and Laura LeMay (nee Knowles), siblings Jim Baskey, Leo “Buck” Baskey, Jack Baskey, Eleanor Young (Morley), Ronald Baskey and Allen LeMay. Geraldine was a member of the Port Burwell and Talbotville United Churches. She loved gardening and crafting. She enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years with Bill. Geraldine and Bill loved travelling the country on their motorcycle with the Windjammers Motorcycle Club. Her greatest passion in life was taking care of her family. A special thank-you to the Doctors, Nurses and Care Givers of Geraldine for taking such good care of her. The family will receive friends, neighbours, and family at Ostrander’s Funeral Home 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg (519) 842-5221 on Tuesday January 10, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00pm. Memorial service for Geraldine will be held at Ostrander’s Funeral Home and will also be live streamed at 1:00pm on Wednesday January 11th, 2023. Spring inurnment will be held at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Vienna. At the family’s request memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
