Geraldine «Deanie» Dewar Obituary
While surrounded by her loving family, Deanie passed away peacefully at Royal Gardens on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, in her 99th year. Born on August 26, 1925, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, to the late William and Sarah (nee Clark) Barrett. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 72 years, John Grieves Dewar, and daughter Carolyn Montgomery (the late Garry). Deanie will be lovingly remembered by her children Linda Jamieson (Brian Smith), John Dewar (Kelly) and Kelly Dewar-Bursey, grandchildren Karri-Lynn Rivard, Susan McMahon, Steven Bennewith, Lori Anderson-Richards, Krista Hubbard (Bruce), Robyn Dewar-Cozzolino (Andrew) and Mitchell Bursey (Melyssa), 12 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, sister Joyce Matthews and brother Stanley Barrett, and many nieces and nephews. Deanie is also predeceased by her siblings William Barrett, Barbara Bird, Josephine Gillies and Marjorie McAllistar.

Family and friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Monday, May 27th, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M – 8:00 P.M. A Celebration of Deanie’s Life will be held on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Highland Park Chapel, with a reception to follow. Interment to take place at a later date at Highland Park Cemetery. In memory of Deanie, donations to St. Luke’s Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated by the family and can be made; along with expressions of condolence, at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
