Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Geraldine Alley announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, November 20th, 2024 at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques NL at the age of 92 years, with her loving family by her side. Born in Pynn’s Brook, NL, to the late Thomas and Sarah Wall, she was also predeceased by her husband Bernard and her son-in-law Bill Parsons.
She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children: Tryphena Skinner, Gwen Parsons, Diane Alley (Daniel Feltham), and Barry (Verna) Alley, all of Port aux Basques. Her grandchildren: Paul Hardy, Melissa Parsons, Devon Parsons, Dean Parsons, Dwayne Parsons, Samantha Alley, Hayden Alley (Trina), Bernadine Alley, Tyler Skinner (Jenine), Thomas Skinner, and Scott Alley (Linda), along with 5 precious great grandchildren, that will cherish her memory.
Geraldine was a quiet person, often lost in her own peaceful world where she would sit quietly doing crossword puzzles or knitting. She spent hours immersed in her crafts, creating cozy socks, mittens, and other colorful items, each piece infused with her love and attention. Her family, however, was her true source of happiness.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas, as well as the other doctors, nurses, and staff at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre for the care and compassion given to Geraldine over the years.
In keeping with Geraldine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 23rd, at 11am at East Haven Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Faye Coffin. Interment of ashes will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers are graciously accepted.
