Suddenly passed away on September 14, 2024 at his friend’s cottage in Trent Lakes, at the age of 60.
Most Beloved spouse of Lili.
Dear Dad of Adam Robert (Helen), Tyler James and Christina Elisabeth (Nandor).
Loving brother of Cornelia (Steen), Regina (the late Mark, 2024), Petra and Corey.
Predeceased by his parents Gerry and Dagmar Hinz.
He is also missed by many extended family and friends.
Gerald had an enormous love of life. He was a loving dad, always engaged with his children. He was a loving brother, always willing to lend an ear and offer a helping hand. He was a loyal and trusting friend. Gerald worked for more than 35 years in the hearing aid industry until his retirement in 2023. His love for travel took him to many places around the globe covering thousands of miles. This was shared with his love and soul mate, Lili. Together their travels and adventures were endless and their love for each other was seamless. Gerald will be remembered for his unwavering love and friendship for family and friends, his sense of humour and his calming presence. But most of all his warm smile.
Gerald was truly one of a kind-bold, strong, and kind.
To know him was to love him. He lived life entirely on his own terms, with a free spirit, and a wild soul. Whether he was embarking on grand adventures or simply savoring the quiet moments, Gerald embraced life with a passion and fullness that few could ever match.
His passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The impact of his loss will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of being part of his journey.
Gerald’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Light refreshments to be provided.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
