Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gerald Joseph Lucas at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre on September 26, 2023 at the age of 87 years.
Gerald peacefully passed doing what he loved, listening to his county music.
Gerald leaves behind his beloved wife Joan (Tobin), his children: Lenny, Donnie, Wayne, Cecil, Debbie, Pam, Tina and Kelly. He also leaves behind his brothers: Cecil, Clevis and Stan. He will forever remain in the hearts of his sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
He is predeceased by his son Paul, his parents: Anita and Francis Lucas, sisters: Loretta, Lorraine also his brothers: Mike and Cyril.
The family wishes to extend gratitude and thanks to the staff of Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre for the exceptional care of Gerald in his final years.
In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2nd, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at St. Joseph’s Parish in St. George’s from where the funeral mass will also be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shallop Cove. A reception will follow the interment at the Royal Canadian Legion in St. George’s.
