With great sadness, the family of Gerald “Jerry” Joseph Breau of Cambridge Narrows, NB announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the George Dumont University Hospital, Moncton, NB at the age of 74. Jerry was born in Saint John, NB on December 11, 1949 the son of the late Elmer and Blanche (Pitre) Breau.
Jerry grew up in Saint John and graduated from St. Malachy’s High School. He attended his first year of university at UNBSJ, then on to UNB Fredericton where he obtained his Master’s in Philosophy. He started his working career with the Audio-Visual Dept. at UNB Fredericton and he later became Manager of the Book Branch and Audio Visual services for the Province of New Brunswick’s Education Department.
Jerry enjoyed gardening, a nice glass of wine on the deck, cooking and entertaining guest for family and friends. He was a member of Queens County Heritage where he was a pass board member and served on various committees.
Jerry is survived by his loving partner of 48 Years, Charles Brown; brother, Paul; sisters, Sheila (Bruce) Curwin and Dale Breau (Gary); several nieces, nephews and wonderful close friends.
Predeceased by his parents and brothers, Frederick and Allan.
At the request of the deceased there will be no Visitation or Funeral Service. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Saint John for family and close friends at a later date. Memorial donations in his memory made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
