It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of George Smith of Sunnyside on January 20th at Dr. G.B. Cross Hospital, Clarenville. Predeceased by his parents Moses and Bessie Smith, sister Bertha Crocker, brother Jim Smith, brother in law Calvin Green, nephew Terrence Crocker, parents in law Reginald and Elizabeth Gardner, brother in law Otto Smith and niece Maggie Smith.
George leaves behind his loving wife Angela, two devoted sons Aaron and Murray and grandchildren Hannah and Kolby , whom he dearly loved, He also leaves behind sister Livy Green , brother in law Clem Crocker, sister in laws Mona (Geoff Brinston), Christine (Ted Hussey), Carolyn (Len Smith) and Pam., as well as nieces and nephews.
George was a fighter who fought courageously over the past four years despite his disability. Nothing was too much of a task for him to do. He managed to do things to the best of his ability and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Cremation is taking place. A celebration of George’s life will be held at St Andrews Anglican Church, Sunnyside at 2PM on February 1st with burial to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Sunnyside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
