George Hindriks
1957-2024
Following a courageous battle with cancer, George Hindriks of Crombie
Settlement, NB, passed away peacefully at the Grand Falls General
Hospital on the evening of June 27, 2024.
George was born in Holland on March 10, 1957. He was the son of the
late Andrew and Diane (Gruppelaar) Hindriks. George leaves behind his
loving wife, Marie Hindriks (Stokes); his daughter, Nancibeth Clements
(Steve) of Deerfield, MI; his son, Andrew Hindriks of Brantford, ON;
his grandchildren, Hannah Koutstaal and Madison Koutstaal; his
sisters, Nancy Hindriks (Tons Horst) of Holland, Tina McCarthy (David)
of Sisson Ridge, NB, Grace McKinley (Russ McNeish) of Brantford, ON,
Lydia Bolton (Larry) of South River, ON; along with several nieces and
nephews.
George was predeceased by his parents; his son, Nicolas Hindriks; and
his sister, Anne Stevens.
George and his wife Marie moved to New Brunswick in July of 2021 to
live out their retirement.
Respecting George’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
service held.
George’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff from the
Extra Mural Program, Perth-Andover office, for their support while
George was home from December 2023 to April 2024, Kindred Home Care
for their home support workers, the Mama Bear Cancer Fund for the
travel vouchers.
George’s family would also like to thank ALL of the nurses, support
staff, and Dr. Sylvie and Dr. Josée of the Grand Falls General
Hospital for being there for him when he needed the palliative care.
To ALL of the nurses and support staff that provided such wonderful
personal care to George we Thank You very much. The Grand Falls
General Hospital did not give up on my husband. Even though he was
palliative, they treated him with so much respect and care. We are so
grateful and blessed to have Dr. Sylvie on schedule when George needed
to be made comfortable so that he could go home to be with his Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We would also like to thank our friends, neighbors and family for
being there for both of us in our time of need. Roger Ducharme, you
have been a Godsend and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for
looking after Jake so that Marie could be there for her husband. You
are family to her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
