Beatty, George
Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the age of 74. Beloved husband for 50 years of Diane (née Watts). Devoted father of Travis and Melanie Beatty and Terri and Derek Grant. Proud grandpa to Evan and Kara Grant; Nolan, Beckett and Brynnley Beatty.
Will be missed by sister Shirley (Pete) Runions, sister-in-law Pat Armstrong, brother-in-law Norm (Marilyn) Watts; many nieces, nephews and their families, and by his many ‘furbabies’ who will miss their treats from George. Now reunited with his parents Jean and Arnold Beatty, Diane’s parents Wilf and Martha Watts, and brother-in-law Mace Armstrong.
George was a man of many talents and skills, who was always happy to help lend a hand to anyone who needed him. He put his heart and soul into everything he did, approaching both his work and interests with determination, dedication and passion. George took pride in being a carpenter by trade. He could look at drawings and envision the completed project in his head. He had a love for all sports, listening to and playing music, and he had an artistic gift for drawing and photography. He was in his element out in nature with his camera. His greatest passion for most of his life was with his horses. From his time as a boy with his own Pony, to date nights with Diane cleaning stalls, being with his horses (Waco, Twisty Sugar) gave him his greatest fulfillment in life. Above all else, he was a devoted family man who was always up for watching the kids or grandkids at their games and matches, full of teasing jokes and laughs, but most of all, love.
Following George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in Campbellford on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 1-4 p.m. at Campbellford Legion, 34 Bridge St. W. Remembrances will be shared at 2:30 p.m. Donations in George’s memory to the Lung Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated, and made be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
