Obituary of Gary Clifford Smith
It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Gary Clifford Smith, age 74, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor on March 8, 1948, he was the son of Gilbert and Harriett «Haddie» (Barker) Smith.
Gary started working at a young age for Sobeys and retired from that company at the age of 54.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Stevens) Hale; son, Adrian Moore, Windsor; daughter, Kathleen Campbell, Ottawa; stepson, Andrew Hale, Ottawa; stepdaughter, Sara Boudreau, Brampton, ON; granddaughter, Dolores Moore; step-grandchildren, Robert and Katherine Hale, Ottawa; Charlie and Max Boudreau, Brampton, ON; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by sisters, Diane (in infancy) and Heather Fletcher.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). The family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 4 from 3-5 p.m. in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre (masks are encouraged). Donations in memory of Gary may be made to Windsor Curling Club, PO Box 501, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 or a charity of one’s choice.
