Obituary
It is with deep sadness, we the family of Gary Watier announce his passing at the Canora Hospital June 3rd, 2024. He was 77 years of age. Gary was born April 30, 1947, to parents, Jerry Watier and Lillian Ross Watier, in the town of Spiritwood, Saskatchewan. He was their eldest son.
Both parents deceased as well as two of his sisters, Shirley and Mary-Jean.
Gary, himself was predeceased by his infant daughter, Lorena; his only son, Leonard; and his first wife, Jeanette.
He leaves to mourn and survive him, his daughter, Loni (Brian); his grandson, Colby and granddaughter, Lauren; also, his daughter, Dallas (Mike); and granddaughters, Michelle and Breelyn. He is also survived by his beloved partner of 33 years, Dianne Foote; her daughter, Carla (Shawyne) and their grandchildren and great grandchildren. He fondly referred to them as his second family. Will be sadly missed by his surviving siblings: Margaret-Carol, and his brothers: Ron (Rhonda), Lionel (Collette), and Neil. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
At a very early age, Gary’s parents relocated to Big River, where he spent the majority of his growing up years. Moved to Buchanan then later years to Canora. Gary worked stucco and cement most of his life, with a few other jobs along the way, started a restaurant in Edson, Alberta with his mom. The restaurant is still running today, just no longer owned by him.
Gary took great pride in his gardening, beautifying his yard, and was well known for making his walking sticks and beautiful canes. Gary loved fishing. His love and care of his dogs, pets, or any animal he had!
Gary was a person that made this world a much better place! Will always be missed, loved and remembered.
There will be no formal funeral at Gary’s request.
