Parcourez la nécrologie de Gary Wallace Monday June 3 2024 résidant dans la province Ontario pour le détail des funérailles.
Gary Wallace, 85, passed away on June 3, 2024 at Ross Memorial Hospital. Gary, otherwise known as «Grumpy» (named by his grandchildren) was predeceased by his wife, Linda Wallace (Williams) and his two children, Craig Wallace and Tracy Rattu (Wallace).
Gary worked at General Motors for 40.3 years, and was an active member of his local Unifor branch into his retirement. He was a kind man, apt to make friends anywhere he went. He was also open to a hug, anytime -as his infamous octopus tattoo stated, “everyone needs a hug”.
Gary was tidy and organized, and took pride in maintaining a “brand new” appearance of everything he owned. He was also outdoorsy. He built his cottage from scratch on Lake Kashwakamak with his brother-in-law over 60 years ago. This property was a source of pride and joy for him, and the home to many family memories over the decades. He also made a special friend in Stella at the cottage, the grouse that came to visit him for several years.
He cherished his family. Grumpy will be dearly missed by them: his daughter, Kimberley Semple; his grandchildren, Megan Cearns (Ryan Good); Morgan Cearns; Jessica Preston (Dan Preston and great-granddaughter Rowan Grace Preston); and Jacob Cearns. He will also be sadly missed by his extended family in Prince Edward County, and his many dear friends in Oshawa.
A private graveside service will be held at Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Sick Kids Hospital in his memory. Donations may be made through Mackey Funeral Home by cheque or online.
