Gary Paul Balsor, 69,
of Cambridge, passed away on December 23, 2024, in Valley Hospice
surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Berwick, he was the son of the
late Myles and Marion (Sweeny) Balsor.
Gary was known to have
a quiet demeanor, but those who knew him well knew of his great sense
of humor. His kind, generous, and patient nature made him a beloved
friend.
In his personal life,
Gary was a great husband, an amazing father, and a doting grandfather.
After the passing of his beloved wife, Ardena, he found great joy and
comfort in spending time with his grandchildren, who brought light and
happiness into his life. His love for his family was evident to
all.
Gary spent much of his
life behind the wheel, driving across the country as a long-haul truck
driver for many years, a career he loved and excelled in. He had an
affinity for cars and trucks, especially Fords. When he
wasn’t on the road or spending time with family, Gary
enjoyed outdoor activities, particularly fishing and snowmobiling with
friends, whom he loved spending time with.
Gary is survived by
his daughters, Darcee (Devin) Dorrans and Mallory Balsor (George
Wade); grandchildren, Ava and Hudson Dorrans; sister, Wendy (Richard)
Strong; brother-in-law, John Schofield; sisters-in-law, Fern Williams,
Marianne Crosby and Anne Demont, nieces and nephews, Dean, Darren,
Dana, Kala, Chad, Megan, and Daeden, and many other beloved family and
friends.
In addition to his
parents, Gary was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ardena; brothers,
Wayne (Donna) Balsor and Merle Balsor, sister in infancy, Joy Balsor;
brothers-in-law, Gary Demont and Jim Schofield, as well as his beloved
dog, Lily.
The family would like
to thank the entire team at Valley Hospice for the compassion and care
they showed not only to Gary, but to the whole family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the
Valley Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online
