It is with great sadness we announce the
unexpected passing of Garrett Donald
Ibbitson, age 26, of Fort Lawrence, Nova Scotia.
Garrett passed away Friday morning, July 7, 2023 at the Dr. Georges
Dumont University Hospital Centre.
Born in Winnipeg, MB, he was the son of
Dan and Cheryl (Chrest) Ibbitson.
Garrett was a kind, compassionate young
man with a great passion for motorcycles, aviation and animals, who
was always concerned about the less fortunate. His two greatest loves
in life were his rescue cat, Little One, and his 1995 Yamaha Virago.
He always felt free with his bike below him. He was also very
musically talented.
Along with his parents, Garrett will be
dearly missed by his brother Ty of Roland, MB, as well as numerous
aunts, uncles and cousins.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777).
There will be no services at this time.
For those wishing to do so, donations
may be directed to The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia or The
CHU Dumont Foundation.
We would also like to extend our
greatest thanks to the doctors and staff of the Moncton Hospital
& Dr. Georges Dumont University Hospital Centre, who
provided Garrett with such exceptional
care.
