Garnet Leonard Shaffer
1958-2024
Garnet Leonard Shaffer, 65, of
Salisbury and formerly of Germantown passed away peacefully in his
sleep at his home.
He was born in Fredericton on December
18, 1958 the son of the late Fletcher Shaffer and Imelda (Hickey)
Shaffer of Riverview.
Garnet was a very talented carpenter
by trade and built many homes over the years. In his younger years he
loved being in the woods hunting and fishing. He was a true Albert
County Boy growing up. He also made many trips on his motorcycle. He
had a passion for antique cars and enjoyed all the car shows. He loved
music and could be found on the stage Karaoke Night. He had a great
sense of humour and loved joking around. You never knew what he was up
to.
His main priority in his life was his
family. He enjoyed family gatherings and especially spending time with
his son. His nieces and nephews also had a special place in his
heart.
He wouldn’t want you sad but to think
of a good time you shared and smile or even a little laugh as you
reminisce.
He will be deeply missed by his
mother, Imelda Shaffer of Riverview; his son, Michael Garnet Shaffer
of Riverview; step-daughter, Rylee Lewis of River Glade; sister,
Valerie Bannister (Doug) of Salisbury; brothers, David Shaffer
(Darlene) of River Glade and Terry Shaffer of Riverview. He will also
be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, Fletcher he was
predeceased by his brother, Richard.
He will be resting at the Albert
County Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm. The funeral will
be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, July 25,2024 at 2:00pm with
Father Charles Broderick officiating. Interment will be in the Holy
Ghost Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB at a later date.
Donations to the Holy Ghost Cemetery
or charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
