Gale «Beth» Johnson
Johnson, Gale Elizabeth “Beth” – Age 59 ½, Debert, passed away on July 16, 2024, in Debert Court. Born in St. Thomas, Ontario, she was a daughter of Gale Marie (Newport) and the late William Kenneth “Ken” Johnson.
Beth worked at the Butler Center and Colchester Community Workshop. She also participated in the Special Olympics in the past. Beth enjoyed crafts and made decorations for her room for every holiday and season. Music of all genres could always be heard coming from Beth’s room as she sang and danced along. Beth loved wearing beaded necklaces and it was seldom she was seen without some type of beads on.
She is survived by her mother, Gale Johnson, Crowes Mills; sister, Laurie Lynn, Crowes Mills; brother, James John, McCallum Settlement and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her father, Beth was predeceased by her brother, William Kenneth “Bill”.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Debert Court for their care during Beth’s time there.
Donations in Beth’s memory may be made to STEPs on Arthur.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and interment in Hillside Cemetery, Belmont at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
