Parcourez la nécrologie de Gail Connick 1935 2024 résidant dans la province Nouveau-Brunswick pour le détail des funérailles
It is with heavy hearts, the family of announce the peaceful
passing of Gail I. Connick on Sunday January 7, 2024 at the Charlotte
County Hospital St. Stephen, New Brunswick.
Born at the Chipman Memorial Hospital to Bernard and Edith
(Cornish) Doten, Gail, a proud American, grew up in Baring Maine, and
spent her youth between Baring and Upper Mills, NB where her favourite
grandmother resided. Gail was the oldest of three and a natural care
giver, she loved her siblings, Gertie & Kenny,
deeply.
Gail met the love of her life, Charles «Charlie»
Connick through her brother Kenny when she was 18, and he patiently
courted her for five years until they married. Gail and Charlie made
Mayfield their home and they quickly welcomed their three children,
John, Roxanne McKinney (Ken), and Doreen Brisley
(Neil).
Gail’s first job was working for Dr Mundie in
Calais as a receptionist, fitting glasses and artificial eyes, which
she was very proud of, and kept this job until she welcomed her first
child. She then spent the kid’s younger years as a homemaker
but took pride in the next career she chose once the kids were grown,
at the Hat Box, a local high end clothing boutique. Gail was always a
lover of nice things; we feel this is where her kin’s
shopping problem may have stemmed from. She worked there until her
retirement. Her most favourite job though was running the home for
Charlie. She took pride in being Mrs. Charles Connick, she adored him
until his last breath.
Along with her children, Gail will be deeply missed by her
grandchildren; Thomas Connick (Gina), Kristen Mitchell (Bill), Andrew
Connick (Kari), Michael Connick (Samantha), Kerrie Brisley, Bradley
McKinney and Lisa McKinney, great- grandchildren; Jakob Connick
(Shelbie), Emma LaFrance (Skyler), Ayden Arseneault (Bridgette),
Audrey Mitchell, Isabelle Connick, Reegan Connick, Loxie Craig,
Maverick Mitchell, Sawyer Connick, Charles «Charlie» Craig,
Tarrek Connick, and soon to arrive
great-great-grandchild, Easton Arseneault, who all
affectionately referred to her as Nanny. She was so much more than a
nanny to many, but she was a special «mom» to Michael. She
will also be missed by her special cousin in Mass, Judy
Bell.
In addition to her parents Gail was predeceased by her
in-laws, Jack and Velma Connick, two younger siblings, Gertrude
Doncaster (Doten), Kenneth Doten, brother-in-law, Wayne Doncaster,
best friend Joyce Richardson who she has missed dearly, the Mayfield
«old gals» as Neil affectionately referred to her neighbours
and former walking partners, friend, Alice Robinson, and her soul left
8 years ago when she lost the love of her life,
Charles.
Gail asked for no tears as she was ready and happy to be
reunited with Charlie.
There will be a private graveside service in the
spring.
The family would like to express their sincere thank you to
the home care staff who cared deeply for her, Extra Mural, Yvonne
Bartlett, Dr. Raza, and all of staff at CCH for the care she received
recently, and throughout her later years. We know she would also like
to thank Dr. Spencer for the care he provided throughout her life. And
to her youngest daughter, Doreen, for the love and care she provided
until the very end.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Charlotte County
Hospital Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice would be
appreciated. Condolences may be sent online to
