The family of Gail Agnes Dyck is saddened to announce her passing on December 2, 2024, at the age of 79.
Gail grew up in New Denver, British Columbia, on Slocan Lake with her parents, three sisters, and brother. She raised her own family in Peace River, Alberta. In different ways, but equally profound, she loved both her family and the valleys that were their homes.
Gail’s joys were pure: raising her voice in song, swimming in a mountain lake, and caring for babies and children.
She lived a life of service to God and formed community with all she met – strangers became her friends, and friends were treated like family. All who knew her can recall times when Gail was there to help and share in both their triumphs and sorrows. She gave the best of herself and wanted to aid others in achieving their highest potential.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Anastacia; brother, Terry; and husband, Ike. Gail is gone too soon and is grieved by her remaining sisters, Patsy, Shirley, and Fran; and her sons, Tim and Todd.
A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Connelly-McKinley Downtown Funeral Home (10011-114 St. NW Edmonton, Alberta).
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
