On the evening of August 29, 2023, Frederick Terrance “Terry” O’Brien passed away peacefully at the age of 90. Terry was born in Saint John, NB to Fred and Edith (March) O’Brien on October 17, 1932. He was preceded in death by his sister Lorna Devenyi and brother-in-law Ernes (Ernie). He married Constance “Connie” Hamilton in 1956 and together they raised four children, Andrea, Janice (Jamie), Kathryn and Sean (Corinna).
Terry spent most of his working life with BNS, retiring after 30 years of service. Many years of retirement at Youngs Cove, Grand Lake followed, filled with many favourite pastimes, in particular golf, bowling and darts/pool at the Royal Canadian Legion of which he was a lifelong member. He will be remembered for his volunteer work over the years, especially with the Canadian Cancer Society.
Terry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Connie and all four children, their partners, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, as well as several nephews and nieces.
Family and friends are invited to join together in celebration of Terry’s life from 2-4pm Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Chipman Funeral Home & Crematorium. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
