Fred Thomas Fisher
With
deep sadness, we announce the passing of Fred Thomas Fisher on Monday,
July 22, 2024, in Valley Hospice, Kentville. He was the son of the
late Ralph and Ruth (Durning) Fisher of Upper Stewiacke. He is
survived by his wife, Shirley (Fraser) Fisher; daughters, Rachel
(Paul), Janie (Justin), and Sarah (Kevin); beloved grandsons, Fraser
and Anderson; and sister, Mary. He is also survived by his special
uncle, James (Elizabeth) Durning; many cousins, brother-in-law David,
nephew, John (Susan), grandniece, Sarah, and grandnephews, James and
Alex.
Fred was
a junior high and middle school teacher at Cornwallis District High
School and the Northeast Kings Education Center for thirty-five years.
He hoped he had made a positive impact on each and every one of his
students. He enjoyed country music, the fiddle, dancing, gardening,
cooking, coffee with friends, and winters in
Florida.
Our
family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the
Valley Hospice for their compassionate, loving, and professional
care.
There
will be no visitation or funeral at Fred’s
request. Cremation has taken place and a private interment
in the Hardwoodland Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley Hospice, Valley
Regional Hospital Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
