Obituary
It is with a heavy heart the Paul family announces the passing of their beloved Frederick Leonard Paul, 86, on Thursday, June 22nd at 4:22am at the Georgetown Hospital.
Loved by all, the long-time employee of the Peel Board of Education and devoted father to Dean and Cathy Paul – grandfather to Matthew, Katelyn, Nathan and Dylan – finally succumbed to cancer after a long-fought battle. Frederick was a loving husband to Helen Paul for nearly 60 years, until her death in 2019. He enjoyed the last three years of his life with his second wife and childhood sweetheart, Florence Harvey-Paul.
He was a dear brother to Nora Reid, the late Dan Paul, William (Billy) Paul Jr. , Ralph (and wife Sheila). Always quick with the wit and never shy to offer a helping hand, Frederick dedicated a large part of his life to Norval United Church. He shared a love of sports such as golf, baseball and volleyball, with many long time friends and family. He was a humble and honest man with a pure and kind heart, and will be fondly remembered by all as a talented accordion and mouth organ player having entertained many over the years.
Friends will be received at Norval United Church 14015 Danby Road in Georgetown on Tuesday July 4, 2023 from 6:00-9:00pm. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at Norval United Church on his birthday, Wednesday July 5, 2023 at 4:00pm. Reception to follow in the Gathering Space. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Norval United Church would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jones Funeral Home. (905)877-3631.
