Frank Joseph Bernard
1940-2023
It is with great sorrow that we announce the
passing of Frank Joseph Bernard, on November 14, 2023. He was born
March 27, 1940, in Lennox Island, PEI. He was a wonderful father,
brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to all he met, all of
whom loved him and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Helen (Riley)
Bernard, his father, Mathew Joseph Bernard, a veteran of WWI who
served in the Military from 1914-1918, his mother, MaryJane (Piero)
Bernard, his brothers, John James Bernard & Ernie Victor
Bernard and his sisters, Susie Scully, Leana Bernard & Rita
(Bernard) Evans, yes, the whole family is together again and he is
happy and at peace and therefore, although we will miss him dearly,
and we are sad, we can take solace in this fact and also with the fact
that we will be with them all again when the Good Lord above calls us
home to join them.
Dad was a fisherman in his earlier years, working the fishing
industry in Florida, USA. He loved motorcycles and dogs. Dad was a
very spiritual man, who enjoyed reading his Bible every morning at the
kitchen table with his morning cups of coffee. He loved listening to
country music or the oldies on the radio. But what Dad loved the most
was spending time with his family and friends
Frank is survived by 5 of his 6 children, John Arthur Bernard
of Scotchfort, PEI, Brenda Ann (Bernard) Mule’ Therrien of
Manchester, NH, Mary Jane Bernard of Scotchfort PEI, Mark Albert
Bernard of Charlottetown, PEI, T’uma (Thomas) Bernard of
Acadieville, NB, and preceded in death by his youngest son James
Edward Bernard, who passed away suddenly in 2021, as well as many
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces.
For anyone wishing to join the family and friends of Frank,
to pay their final respects, visitation will be held at the Hennessey
Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home, located at 33-35 Longworth Ave.,
Charlottetown, PEI on Sunday 11/26th from 4-8 p.m. Services to
celebrate Frank’s life will be held in the Funeral
Home Chapel on Monday 11/27th, beginning at 11 a.m.,
followed by a procession (led by motorcycles, weather permitted) to
the Morell Cemetery for a graveside service, with dinner to follow
(location will be given to anyone wishing to attend). We are asking
anyone who wishes to send flowers, to please try to find them in
Orange & White in «Honor of the Surviving Residential
Children», which was a subject near and dear to Frank’s
heart, as he was a survivor himself, after spending 10 years in one as
a child.
