It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francis Wayne “Butch” Wells, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, at the age of 71. Born in Windsor he was the son of the late Francis and Florence “Sally” (McCann) Wells.
Butch is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy (Rafuse) Wells and the very proud father of Lindsay (Jason) Wolfe and Courtney Wells, who gave him the privilege and honour of becoming a grandfather to Addison, Erik, Haven and Gia Wolfe and Devrie Wells. They were all the light of his life! He is also survived by sister, Cherie Wells; sister-in-law, Anna (Rafuse) Fogarty; nephews, Shane Wells, Scott and Patrick Fogarty; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his very special mother-in-law, Shirley Rafuse; brother-in-law, David Fogarty and special furry grandson, Larson.
Butch was a retired employee of Fundy Gypsum Company. He loved sports of any kind and being with his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by us all!
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As per his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held in the future with a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Butch may be made to the SPCA, PO Box 10, Waterville, NS B0P 1V0.
